Privacy policy
For my private Gmail assistant.
Updated November 4th, 2026
Who operates it
I'm Lucas Johnson. I use Hermes Gmail Monitor with my own Google account. The app is not offered for public signup.
Google account data
The app uses Google OAuth and the gmail.readonly permission to read Gmail messages, including message content, senders, recipients, subjects, dates, labels, and attachments when needed. It uses that information to identify mail that needs attention and provide requested summaries and reminders. This permission does not allow sending, changing, or deleting mail.
Processing and sharing
Relevant email content may be processed by the AI providers configured in my personal assistant when I request assistance. Notifications and summaries may be delivered through my connected messaging services, including Slack. Those services apply their own retention settings and policies.
I do not use Google Workspace API data to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.
Google account data is not sold or used for advertising. The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Storage and removal
OAuth credentials are stored on my assistant's server, not in this public website. Connections to Google use HTTPS, and OAuth credential files have owner-only filesystem permissions. Message identifiers, notifications, summaries, and assistant history may remain in local storage or connected services until deleted. Revoking Google access stops future API access but does not automatically remove existing copies.
I can revoke the connection through Google Account connections.
